This weekend was really, really, fun! [livejournal.com profile] kradical & [livejournal.com profile] wrenn threw a most excellent party on Saturday night, to which, Brian, [livejournal.com profile] alorarose and I were invited, as well as a bunch of other people, both whom I had either previously met or met for the first time last night.

It was really good to see [livejournal.com profile] suricattus & Ian Randal Strock again. Hadn't see the former since the reading back in August and the latter since February.

The food was really yummy too! [livejournal.com profile] kradical made his own tomato sauce, which is spicy & very flavorful. [livejournal.com profile] wrenn made pulled chicken, and Dale made a baked brie which was to die for!

Had great conversations throughout the night, which brought forth some extremely amusing quotes, such as these gems:

"I do that through all cats and porn!"
"Sadly, this is not Klingon foreplay, this is classic human douchebaggery!"
"Pull up your asbestos Satan panties!"

To find out who said those, see my Twitter feed.

Brian, [livejournal.com profile] alorarose, and I stayed the night. More amusing conversations occured today. We left around 2:30 to go home.

I love my friends :)

I'm sorry I suck at timeliness on posting this, but I needed a few days to compose thoughts to write them down :)

New Years Eve was *awesome*!! Brian and I picked up Chris (his brother) from their folks (he spent the night after Christmas part II). We got breakfast from the Georgia Diner before continuing on into Manhattan to Chris's apartment. Nolan and Julie joined us and we went to The Cloisters.

After grabbing a bite to eat, we parted ways. Brian stayed with Chris, Nolan, and Julie. I hopped on the bus and headed toward [livejournal.com profile] kradical's place. There was a really helpful gentleman on the bus that told me when to ring for my stop. For the most part, the sidewalks were clear, until I reached the block where his apartment is, and there was barely a footpath to walk on. Thankfully, I was wearing my snowboots.

I met some really amazing people and had a wonderful time!! Here's some highlights and hilarious quotes (that won't be credited to protect the innocent, and not-so-innocent. However, if you would like to take credit for your quote(s), let me know and I'll add your name to it) from the night:

  • Met: Tina([livejournal.com profile] karistan), Neal, Danny, Dennis, Laura Anne Gilman, Ian Randal Strock, Nea Dodson ... I know I'm missing at least two people. I suck :(
  • Clicking almost instantly with [livejournal.com profile] karistan
  • Tina and I determined we were separated at birth, really. We have a lot of the same idiosynchrasies.
  • "When the bottom fell out of the emu market..."
  • Wrenn's homemade meatballs and [livejournal.com profile] kradical's homemade sauce: Perfect match!
  • Scooter doesn't know what to do with himself! Becomes area rug...
  • "Netflix: The Wonder Drug"
  • New Year's Crackers (these things are weird, but not as weird as the Christmas ones).
  • "Y'know, you don't usually see this kind of action on a mattress without putting a quarter in."
  • "Jumper cables, when properly applied, do wonders for stamina!"
  • "No hamsters, no gerbils, no drain cleaner."
  • Rang in the New Year with Proseco and blackberries (the actual berry).
  • She's a pretty pretty princess!!
  • I meant the previous bullet point in all ways possible!
  • "Why are you pulling on my toes?"
  • Became a very melted puddle of kitten. Ear massages are amazing. The Ferengi definitely got something right with that one... Mmmm.. Oomox.
  • Slept in the library.
  • Sterling plopped on my feet and didn't budge until I really needed to get up.
  • Scooter still didn't know what to do with himself, so he slept in the hallway.
  • Snuggle times for the win!!
  • Brian finally joined us! Huzzah!!
  • Brian and I left around 1:30pm with Tina and Neal and went to a really tasty cafe down the road.
  • Parted ways around 3pm.

I'm not kidding when I say this was the Best. New Years. Ever! Didn't get a kiss at midnight, but that was more than made up for!! :)

And for the record? I'm still floating on Cloud Nine. I *might* tell you all why... if you ask nicely.

  • Curses!

At the request of [livejournal.com profile] chris_walsh, I am going to explain the game of Curses.

Quite a few years ago at [livejournal.com profile] kathrishali's parents house, I was introduced to a game called Curses, which is a party game for 4+ players. The more the merrier. Curses is a card game that comes with a bell typically used at Hotels at the desk to get someone's attention. The rules of the game are simple:

    Rules )

Sounds easy, right? Wrong!!! Sometimes, you are so busy cracking up from other people's actions that you forget to do your own. And you can have a whole slew of curses on your plate and lose track of the order in which you have to do them, praying someone doesn't notice. Hilarity ensues!

The time I got to play this game, I had so much fun doing so, but never did get the chance to buy the game. I still want to.

    My Weekend

    I had a really great weekend :)

Saturday: Brian and I went up to Sylvan Lake because Brian's extended family on his mom's side wanted us to go to their lake house. It's located about 30 mins North of where they live. Originally Brian and I were going to drive ourselves, but Brian's Nerve was acting up again, so I drove us to Huntington and then his parents drove the rest of the way. The Lake House is actually located in a Bungalow Colony. I didn't know you could own a bungalow.

I finally got to meet Brian's cousin Kurt. He's a pretty cool guy. I'm hoping he comes to more family functions.

Brian's aunt and uncle gave us an engagement gift :) YAY!! And we had tasty foods and stuff.

Sunday: 20 years ago, my friend Cindy got a severe 3rd degree burn on her arm from using a deep fryer. Because of this, she had to quit her job and therefore could not afford to attend I-CON. She ended up volunteering and the rest is history. Had she not volunteered, none of us would have been in her life.

To celebrate this, she and her husband George threw a Deep Fry party. Sooooo much fun! I got to catch up with a bunch of people including [livejournal.com profile] jbadger, and most importantly John Sheehan. :) Good people, good food, good times! :-D

All in all a great weekend :)

Happy 2007 everyone!! Hope you enjoyed your New Years celebration as much as I did!! :-D

So..the days preceeding 2007 were filled with awesome fun times. On Friday, Brian came by and I drove his car for an hour and a half. Twas a lot of fun :-D His car is low to the ground, so I feel much safer than when I was driving my friend's truck over the summer. Then we went over to Attias Flea Market. I hadn't been there in quite some time. Afterwards, we went to Fort Henry, where I feel very much at home. Nolan was just waking up and I got to see CSDave in a rare non-suited occurance, not to mention his hair not looking usual. I told him he should keep his hair that way and he gave me such a look. :-P I was being serious though... Anyway, so later on, Jarrod, Lisa, and Boglin came by. Lisa cooked for us. And we had alcohol...mmm..alcohol. Saaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrsguaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrd!!! I ended up spending the night.

Saturday, I drove Brian's car again. We ended up on the LIE because the service road decided it wanted to end. So, after I regained my composure because omg I'm driving on the LIE...we ended up in Eastport. I drove all around till we ended up back in Selden (that is, after driving around Manorville, down to Yaphank, up to Rocky Point...across to Coram, and down to Selden). It was fun, and I get to drive again really soon :-D We went for pizza and then he drove me home.

New Year's Eve was awesome. My brother was making Vodka sauce from scratch, so it smelled heavenly in the apartment. JC picked me up and we went to go pick up Jenn from her house. We stayed there for a bit and then headed to Bill and Victor's. I had a blast!! The party was smaller than the usual Bill and Victor party but it was fun. The weird occurance of the evening was seeing a person I hadn't seen since I graduated High School. He met a different me that night. I got pleasently drunk and we rang in the new year watching the ball drop. Bill got the projection thing hooked up 3 mins before the New Year :) First hug of 2007: Pam. First kiss of 2007: Victor.

I then wandered off to go play some drunken DDR (there was also Drunken Wii playing going on). Drunken DDR on hard plastic pads is not as fun as on the soft pads. At around 12:30 or so, a bunch of people went down to the park to set off fireworks. I stayed back and was out on Victor's deck with Brian and we were out there for the next 2 hours...until it started to rain. Pete and Janet came outside for a bit and Brian had a very amusing conversation with Cory. We went back inside. The party started to die down around 5am. About 5:30ish I plopped on the couch downstairs and Bill told me an amusing story of when they were cleaning up after the 4m Fire and him sleeping on two couches much like how Snoopy sleeps on his doghouse. I was between Pete and Brian. Pete passed out. Brian wasn't comfortable and I was freeeeezing. So, Brian called a cab and we trekked back to Fort Henry and promptly passed out.

Brian's brother Chris came out to see him. It was nice seeing Chris. Hadn't seen him since the party over the summer for Beky, Liz 1, and DK. He wandered out about 4 to go to Chez Sarver. Brian and I passed out again and then when we became full conscious, we headed over to Chez Sarver. I still have yet to meet Celeste, but I heard her crying. I got to see Chris again, Faith, Beky, Balkar, and Dan, which is always a good thing :-D A little while later, Brian took me home.

So, all in all, my weekend was awesome and New Years was awesome and I plan on making this year a lot more awesome than last.

Thursday 12/21: [livejournal.com profile] muhon was in town, so Gushi, myself, Aakin, and Mark joined her at Hoshi for a very tasty lunch. Thank you for treating us all :-D And then of course it was Barbara's 21st birthday. We (Gushi, Michelle, JC, Jenn, myself, and Barbara) went to The Rinx to ice skate and then headed to The Keep and proceeded to all get shitfaced (except for JC because he had to drive). Gushi, upon eating his Orange Chicken discovered A piece of Brick in his food. I spent the night.

Friday 12/22: Barbara awakes with only a slight headache. Huzzah! I went with Gushi to work. That was an experience. It was "Fix the bathroom fan" day. A trip to Home Depot and a Gushi covered in drop ceiling, the fan was fixed. Gushi offered to pick my mom up from work :)

After we dropped my mom home and I grabbed a bunch of clothing, and then we went to the Solstice party. It was a lot of fun...sooo many people were there. And Brian Marcoe offered to teach me how to drive. He drives a School Bus, so I'll definitely be in good hands. We go back to The Keep and I spent the night.

Saturday 12/23: Gushi and I went to see The Pursuit of Happyness. Excellent excellent movie and Will Smith's son was in it. Then we went back to The Keep and watched Star Trek: The Animated Series. Janet came by and Gushi, myself, Janet, and Michelle went to Eldorado for tasty dinner. I spent the night.

Sunday 12/24: Gushi and I went to Stop & Shop to buy everything we needed for Xmas dinner. That was fun. Gushi then drops me home so I can shower and grab more clothing. He went to his mothers house. He comes back to pick me up and we head back to The Keep. Emilie and Fossil came by. We started baking and making the apple/pineapple sauce. Gushi plays Trauma Center for the Wii. Fucking insane game. I spent the night.

Monday 12/25: Happy Chismahanukwanzukafestivyule. Gushi and I cooked a *ton* of food. Joining he and I for dinner were Michelle, Chris, DK, and Tommy. We had a bunch of leftovers. Michelle played Zelda on the Wii...what a pretty game, though my favorite still stands: Link to the Past. After that, Gushi played more Trauma Center. Amazing game of DOOM. I spent the night.

Tuesday 12/26: Happy Boxing Day. Gushi felt like poo and Fossil came by. I packed leftovers to take home with me. We went on an adventure leading to me getting home. I got home a little after 6pm. I stayed home. My family was confused. It was funny.

And that was my week in review.
