Last night, I had the most epic of dreams involving [livejournal.com profile] kradical, [livejournal.com profile] chris_walsh, and Levar Burton. It was so epic, I have to write about it! So without further ado, I give you...my dream.

For some reason that occurred prior to my entering into the dream, Levar Burton invited us to be on the set of Star Trek: The Next Generation for the taping of the most awesome Reading Rainbow episode EVER that involved meeting the TNG cast and going behind the scenes...ya know, this episode. Only, instead of us being the ages we were back when it was taped (in 1991), we were how old we are now, including Levar Burton...until he got into his Geordi Le Forge character...then he'd revert back to 1991 him. Bizarre but extremely awesome!

After the taping, Levar Burton wanted to interview [livejournal.com profile] kradical and asked him about his TNG novels and new prospects, while [livejournal.com profile] chris_walsh and I sat on the sidelines and watched with Michael Dorn, who was still in his Worf makeup (that stuff takes forever to put on!!)

After the interview, the rest of the cast joined us for lunch, as they are now and not in 1991. I was sad that Wil Wheaton couldn't join us, but the day of the taping wasn't one of the production days he was on the set, so he didn't get the memo. Oh well.

The dream closed with us at the airport. [livejournal.com profile] kradical and I said goodbye to [livejournal.com profile] chris_walsh at his gate before going to ours to catch our plane home.

ETA: I should mention that the interview ended up airing on the episode.

Neat and sweet.

Well-chosen detail of me flying in a different direction! Your dream-self didn't forget where I live!

I didn't say hi, but Michael Dorn was at a Comic Con signing. So were Brent Spiner and Marina Sirtis. Wil Wheaton was at events for The Big Bang Theory and The Guild. Nice to see these people in reality. I've yet to see Jonathan Frakes, but as he sometimes directs Leverage episodes here in Portland there's always a chance...

(Oo! I've also seen William Fucking Shatner and Patrick Stewart speak at conventions. REALLY especially liked Stewart's talk. They're both funny.)

This is a rambling comment. I blame caffeine. (McCafe Mocha Frappe. You know more now.)

P.S. Not my type, as he's a he, but Dorn is a handsome man. I remember when my Trek-liking Aunt Nancy saw a picture of him out of make-up and said he looked like a GQ model.

My dream-self scares me at times. Like I told you on your post about a dream, my dreams can be surprisingly real...to the point where they might actually become real at a later date. Unfortunately, this is one of those dreams, though very realistic, will never happen because it's impossible to ever *be* on the TNG set. :( It would be really fucking awesome if it were possible though! I do, however, believe my dream is telling me that we actually have to, ya know, get together at some point. Fly to NY!

Soooooo jealous of your Star Trek actor sightings! I fucking LOVE William Fucking Shatner.

And that's ok, I like rambling comments :)

I went to see the Tempest on broadway after TNG and Patrick Stewart wouldn't sign anything from Trek, but did take a few minutes to sign stuff from the stage door to his NYC limo after the performance.

I've noticed that Robert Duncan McNeil is producing & directing these days (Middleman) (Lieutenant, then Ensign Paris on Voyager)
