They Might Be Giants
Jul. 31st, 2011 09:21 amOn Friday, I saw They Might Be Giants for FREE at the Williamsburg Waterfront! This concert was fucking amazing!!!! It was half Comedy Show, half Music Concert.
The rundown of who was on the stage, in order of appearance:
Eugene Mirman My favorite quote from his bit: "Religion: It's not a leap of faith, it's high-functioning Autism!"
Jim Gaffigan
Todd Barry
Kristen Schaal
Astrophysist Neil deGrasse Tyson with Eugene Mirman, answering some very important science questions.
Patton Oswalt
Jonathan Coulton
They Might Be Giants
There were two very prominent downpours that occurred during the show. Thankfully I had a poncho. The rain finally stopped for the rest of the night when Neil deGrasse Tyson came on the stage.
The incomplete set lists for Jonathan Coulton and They Might Be Giants:
JoCo played - "Shop Vac", "Mr. Fancypants", "Re: Your Brains" (I'm only missing one song from this set!)
TMBG played: "Birdhouse in Your Soul" (Opener), "Clap Your Hands", "Don't Let's Start", "Mesopotamians", "Istanbul" (Closer), "Fingertips" (Encore), and a whole bunch of songs from their new album Join Us that I didn't catch the names of, but they were all fucking awesome and I really need to get the new album!!
I really enjoyed myself at the show. I loved every minute of it :)
