George Lopez does comedy on Comedy Central & HBO. Many of his routines use common derogatory racial epithets (he's Mexican & can get away with calling people Spicks, Wet Backs, Beaners & so on)
He uses the expression "Deet-Da Dee" to refer to People whose actions/statements make them appear to be "Mentally Challenged"
One time he did a performance at a hospital with many "Mentally Challenged" people. He didn't use his trade mark term "Deet-Da Dee" for fear of Offending them or the people who were caring for them.
The "Mentally Challenged" people were restless & during a break, one of the attending people asked George what was wrong, since all the "Campers" were looking forward to the derogatory "Deet-Da Dee" in the humor it was intended & felt that he was Disrespecting them, because he wasn't treating them like he treats everyone else, with Derogatory & Racial Epithets,
