Page-A-Day Jeopardy! 1-8-12
The answer to yesterday's Double Jeopardy! question was: Who is Marcel Duchamp?
We have reached the end of the week, according to the calendar, which means it's time for Final Jeopardy!
In this round, you get to wager up to how much you've earned this week. If you haven't played this week, or you got every answer wrong, you can wager up to $1000. Also, if you earned less than $1000, you can also wager up to $1000. The max you can wager is: $5400.
And now, onto the Final Jeopardy! question:
The Category: Highways
The Answer: Made up of I-495 & I-95, it was conceived as a bypass called the Washington Circumferential Highway.
Good luck, put your wager in your comment, and NO CHEATING!!

I don't know how much I made this week, but let's call it a true daily double.

And a lot of people are probably going to get this, not just people like me who used to live and drive around there, because "inside the Beltway" is used so often to describe D.C. politics.
Trivia! There also was going to be an Inner Beltway (within D.C. itself) and an Outer Beltway, and portions of both were built -- the chunk through Northern Virginia exists now as the Fairfax County Parkway -- but nothing near the full routes for those were ever completed. Last I heard, back when I lived there, planners were wondering if an even farther-out bypass was needed, to divert more East Coast traffic from I-95 and the Beltway (i.e. bypass the bypass!), but a bypass would have to be really out of the way of D.C.
