Academic Standing: SUSPENSION

So, I will not be attending Stony Brook for Spring 2006 semester. I will most likely be going to Suffolk...if I can figure out transportation and monies and shit like that.

I have to somehow retrieve the rest of my stuff from my dorm room and say bye bye to Stony Brook.

I will, however, still be on campus on Tuesdays because of I-Con meetings, as well as 4m meetings. ::sigh::

This just fucking blows soooooo much.

I cannot petition back in. First off, if you don't earn atleast a 2.0 for the semester, you are unable to. Second off, I only earned 7 credits...so even if I did get above a 2.0, I still wouldn't be able to petition because I would need atleast 9 passed credits for the semester.

they dont allow u to petition if you get under a 2.0? r u sure about that? cause its getting under a 2.0 that makes u get kicked out in the 1st place....id check on that.

maybe its diff now, but i got under a 2.0 2 semesters in a row so they were going to kick me out so i petitioned and they let me stay. brian did it a few times i think too, noel did it alot, and other 4mites over the yrs too.

Yes. According to the site...Suspension is when you've been on probation before and your cumulative avg is BELOW 2.0. Additionally, in order to Petition, you have to have passed atleast 9 credits that semester *and* got ABOVE 2.0 to be considered for reinstatement.

o, thats really kinda fucked up...you should try talking to someone anyways just for the heck of it

when I was at SB you got put on probation if you had one sem under 2.0, and if you had 2 sems of under 2.0 in a row, or 3 sems total at your SB time you were suspended/thrown out/whatever they call it. there were no requirnments for petitioning though...anyone could do it.
