@username if it appears at the beginning of the Tweet is a Reply to something they tweeted previously (usually, sometimes it's just a stand alone getting their attention thing). The hashtags #LIRR being my most used one, when on Twitter, if you click on the tag, it will take you to a page of other tweets that have that tag. Makes for interesting days/nights (see #BadPromThemes from the other day)
